Out of the Blue offer…

Friday, September 26, 2008

Ok, I was given an opportunity to work in Japan for a small company offering a ERP solution to a small~medium sized business.

The offer was given last WED (Sept 24) and I said yes after a little convincing from my instructor.

The very next day (THU Sept 25) I was asked to meet the client, and so I did.

He accepted my application and asked me to come by his office tomorrow to pass my resume and passport to process the documents and to be briefed about the system.

And once again I did.

And now I’m here in his office doing something that I was not asked to do.. To start working.

I’m wasn’t told when to start working, how long am I suppose to work, and the days I’ll work.

I had passed my resume. I had passed the passport. I have been briefed about the system and testing it out.

What was told happened already and something else is happening which is not part of the arrangement.

Now I’m stuck here in his office mentally forcing myself to work (AT ONCE).

Sad part was, I was expecting a free shift and Mon-Fri working days.. But I was told informally that the working hours is 8:30AM~5:30PM. And was formally informed that they work on Saturdays T_T — 9:00AM to 3:00PM

I was also informed informally that the working time in Japan will be 9:00AM-6:00PM. I just hope that they don’t have Saturday working days there…

Some people really do not read….

Thursday, September 4, 2008

I posted an announcement in our campus-wide mailing list, it says:

Subject: [ITRENDS] Important Announcement and Reminders

People under Mr. X,
Please send the soft copy of your article AND your picture PLUS the image you want to add in your article to XXXlaws@gmail.com by Friday (Sept 5). Please CC XXXce_0186@yahoo.com

Failure to do so means failure of the subject as well.

Thank You!

Obviously we, in our class, know what that article is…
I was expecting my classmates to pass me something… and I did receive something, but it wasn’t from my classmate…. read:

what kind of article do you want to pass on you?… i don’t really understand your announcement…. here’s my cell number 09XXX654197 and my yahoo mail>>thoXXXXri_martin@yahoo.com

Clearly he did not read the subject very well… it says I T R E N D S

Mr. X do have other classes but there isn’t another ITRENDS class under him.

So I just reply: (in a not so good mood)

if you’re not in our ITRENDS class then please disregard the announcement.

and if by any chance that you are in the ITRENDS class of Mr. X please talk to him at once.

Thank you.

It has been a custom of the school to put the class code inside brackets at the beginning of the subject line so that concerned people will notice it and others who does not have any relation with that subject will not mind it and futher more not reply to it!

That is all… Thank you.
