AVG signs ragnarok clients as Backdoor.Ragnarok

quite funny and a little bit alarming… NOW I CANNOT PLAY RAGNAROK!! T_T

 A while ago while I ran Ragnarok this little devil shows up…

AVG signs ragnarok clients as Backdoor.Ragnarok virus and you have 3 choices, Ignore, Info, or Move to Vault.

There isn’t even a choice of healing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I accidentaly moved it to the vault.. and lo and behold.. It was gone and in the vault i cannot restore it..XD

AVG anti-virus issues and conflicts

To all Ragnarok Players,

We would like to inform you that we are aware of the AVG anti-virus issues or conflicts with regards to the Ragnarok.exe files. We advise everyone not be alarmed, as the virus alert is merely just a false alarm.

We are already working with the developers of AVG to remedy this but as a temporary solution, we advise everyone to try the following measures:

• You can turn off your AVG anti-virus (reminder: you will be open to any virus ones this is done) before patching Ragnarok.
• You can turn off your AVG anti-virus and replace it with another anti virus for now.
• If all Ragnarok.exe files are already in you virus vault, please uninstall your client then turn-off your AVG anti-virus.
• Reinstall Ragnarok client without AVG anti-virus.

Uninstall the client? WHERE’s THE FOOD!!! there a lot to REDOWNLOAD again~ amp!

I would have really appreciate it if they also showed how to seamlessly turn off AVG… swt..

na delete tuloy yung Ragexe at Sakexe ko… baluga… baka naman may nilalagay talaga kayong kung ano dyan sa exe na yan na kumukuha ng kung anong info ah… wahahaha joke

pero naman… please inform AVG about this ASAP! or fix your executable ASAP~!

And according to AVG the definition of a backdoor trojan is:

Backdoor Trojan horses usually install themselves after the Trojan horse file is ran. They also allow remote access to the infected computer when connected to the internet.

In their least dangerous form they can cause the infected computer to download or upload specific files or run certain programs. More dangerous Trojan horse will allow the perpetrator full control of the infected computer.

True enough, that is what those clients do… hahahahah
